No more lab job.
Today I finished working. It was the very last winter holiday and the very last time I worked there - if my plans remain the same. I'll enjoy it sleeping tomorrow until I wake up, going shopping... that's it for today.

Random stuff (3)
Thursday yet. Tomorrow I have a day off. I decided to spend the weekend at the countryside. Visiting family.
Tuesday afternoon I was having an appointment with my professor. We talked about my diploma thesis concept which was accepted. Hurray!!
Now I can work on the diploma thesis, my goal is to finish it at August, 31st. In November I want to do my exams for recieving the master degree.
Then I really want to go abroad, Japan is my favourite place to stay for a while right now. I'm already looking at JSPS for possible ways. I just need a job (I want to work at a university) and a small room to live.

A walk through the floodplain forest
In the morning I had a walk in the floodplain forest nearby to look for allium ursinum. Allium ursinum? In English it has many names, I use the term "bear's garlic" for it because it's similar to the German name. You can look here for the English Wiki entry and for the Japanese one.
I didn't find anything. At the beginning of the week my colleague already found some at place where she lives. Maybe she has more sun there :-)
I'll wait another 1, 2 weeks and then I'll find some for sure.
At least I took some pictures while I was walking along the rivers at -3°C.

Accident and spring is coming
Friday is usually a quiet day. But today I spent more than 3 hoursin hopsital. I got phosphoric acid into my eye. After an eye bath my mother took me to hospital where my eye was checked. Lucky me, no injuries.
The first few plants are coming back. Chives, tulips, crocus and snowdrop are coming. Tomorrow I'll have a walk in the floodplain forest nearby and look for bear's garlic.

Random stuff (2)
Thursday already. I'm glad that tomorrow is Friday... weekend starting at 2.30 pm :)
This week was full with work. My usual 7 am - 3 pm @ work. And after work? Monday appointment with the academy because of the diploma thesis and shopping. Tuesday... oh yes, private lessons in SPSS, earned 15 bucks. Yesterday I thought I have a quiet evening. I did some work in the household, overworked my concept... tataaaa 9 pm, time for bed.
Today I went to Team Peloco. Angie repaired my extentions. My hair is straight and very strong, extentions tend to slip. Plus almost any shampoo is not good for extentions. Too much silicone in it.
She made new extentions, 2 more dreads and she sold me a shampoo with shouldn't damage them.
The cats are growing well. Linus 3,4 kg and Lucy 2,8 kg.

Sometimes thinking about a title is hard... !!!
Not much news over here. I bought a new digi cam which will arrive the next few days. I asked my parents and my sister to buy me an mp3 player for my birthday. I chose one by Philips. First I wanted an IPod Shuffle, but it's just expensive and doesn't even have a display. IPod Nano? 150€ are too much to lash out.

The first Sunday all alone...
... wasn't really bad! We chat via Skype every day, he can see me through my webcam.
I got up early as usual, read newspapers, had breakfast. Then I continued with my concept for the diploma thesis. Some work in the household, calls with the family, a nap in the afternoon, some games on Nintendo DS... there's always something to do!
Since I already know I'm coming to Groningen soon I'm not really sad. Time will pass by quickly.

Groningen, here I come!
Philippe arrived today at Groningen and I think he enjoys his stay very much. His blog (in German) can be found here: http://philgroningen.wordpress.com/ I'm sure he'll add pictures soon.
I decided to visit him during Easter holidays, we have 2 weeks off at our university. Going to Groningen by train takes 11 hours or even more, changing trains at least one time... and it's not cheap. I checked some low-cost airlines, but going to Vienna by car: 200km one way. Count 40 € for petrol, 66 € for parking (that's the price for 1 week, I want to stay 10 days, so count more) and the cheapest fight I got was one from Skyeurope for 100 €.
I found a nice offer by Lufthansa. I booked now Linz-Frankfurt-Amsterdam for March 18th and Amsterdam-Munich-Linz for March, 28th. I'm excited. I'm afraid of flying but somehow I enjoy the whole atmosphere at the airport and in the plane.
And I love looking up in which planes I'll travel :-)
Linz-Frankfurt and Amsterdam-Munich: Avro RJ85 Avroliner

Frankfurt-Amsterdam: Airbus Industrie A319

Munich-Linz: De Havilland DHC-8 Series 300

Another month, another work!
Well I'm back at my part-time job, I'm working in a lab for month. I really love it there.
After work I went to the supermarket. It was somewhat strange buying food for a single household. I noticed I'm not really interested in cooking just for me. I bought fruits and vegetables, well I prefer fruits, cavies get the veggies.
What else... I need a new camera. I told my sister to think about a camera for my birthday ;)
That was it, I'm exhausted.
